AVENGERS Official Wknd Estimates: 191M - Disney

Recommended Posts

Loss of interest. Fatigue.

Can the people arguing this is happening make clear what the bar is for future CBMs?

If CACW makes 300/900, is that a win for your argument? How important are Ant-Man and Deadpool to this?

BVS is gonna have to rejuvenate the genre.

They're not. Because all they can then think of is 'it's going to finish below F7 WW. It's going to finish under TDK!!! Subconsciously it's the overall total it's pointing to which is causing these reactions.

Sub-500 is in play, yes. Hell, sub-475 is very much in play too. That second number was something very few thought was possible simply because the weekend was expected to be well north of 200.

I'm curious as to how the general trades/media will cover this though.  Here's USA Today and a comment from Rentrak--

And this one's from Bloomberg--

And Hollywood Reporter--

From the sounds of these, It looks like Disney (or pretty much everyone) underestimated the effect that the fight would have.  EDIT: Although, if the numbers from Sunday is greater than the 20% drop that Disney is anticipating, it will obviously look like it really isn't because of all of those other factors that AOU performed the way it did.

BoxOffice.com adjusted their projection to $500M (down from 567M).

yes, yes, its all the 'Fights' fault. Yeah the fight caused Friday's and Sunday's numbers right?.

If it was all down to the Fight, next weekend should have a good hold then.

That movie is gonna fail to beat the OW of F7. And this place will be hilarious when it happens.
