Indeed. Unfortunately due to their failure they've now done an about-turn. 

 

This is the big problem that can only be attributed to Hollywood:  when box office results "confirm" their historical biases, their response is predictably reactionary. But when box office results completely go against those biases, they deem it "an outlier" or "an abberation." This happened after Inception. There were even trade articles about it.

So I actually think this movie looks good, not the most original story-line for sure. But It's nice to see Natalie Portman headlining an Sci-fi action film. plus It's Alex Garland the man who gave us Ex Machina, can it really be that bad?

It wasn’t in vain... the movies got made. That’s always the most important thing.

Downsizing is really bad but it was offset by mother! being really good.  So nice job Paramount!

So the HD version will be out on Netflix next week? What's the point of giving it a theatrical in North America? Everyone will just download a copy from the interwebs.

Yeah I noticed the AMCs near me are having them.  Maybe the other theaters are waiting to put up the times

What was the point in releasing it to Netflix if it's not going to get any Oscars in time for the Thursday previews before the reviews come out?
