Been waiting five years for another big scale disaster movie, and I'm sure many others have been also.

I have. Into the Storm was decent filler, but it didn't satisfy my hunger for disaster like I'm hoping San Andreas will.

Bradley last two drama's haven't really set the world on fire.  But both had issues behind the scenes it seems. He's got another drama coming out during the winter "Adam Jones" where he's a chef, well see how that does.  I don't think these under performers hurts his overall drawing power.  I'm happy he's expanding his roles though.

Sure, but the word original has become pretty misused the past few years. Now it pretty much means "anything that isn't part of a franchise" which isn't at all what it should mean.

I remember back when original truly meant something original.

But in Hollywood it's always meant "not based on any previously published material".

They're dumping all the crap he's starred in that they had sitting on shelves to take advantage of his popularity. Happens all the time, says nothing about his drawing power

That was true of Serena which has been kicking around for a couple of years in search of distribution but Aloha was only delayed a few months by Sony.

I know San Andreas a "pure disaster porn " movie but you can find disaster porn in many tentpoles now : Marvel ( there s always something very big crashing at the end of their movies), Star Trek Into Darkness, Kal El The Mass Murderer DC movie, WWZ kinda, Godzilla, Transformers or any Bay movie for that matter etc

Gobal scale destruction is something audiences crave.

Bullshit.. Original film means it's a film that's so unique, it's never copied any other movie and is a separate entity unto itself... San Andreas will rank right up there with every other disaster movie we've ever seen...

No. Original film means not a sequel, prequel, spin-off, remake or adaption. We're not using original as an adjective, which YOU KNOW.

Poltergeist is so bad. With the exception of one absolutely beautiful scene of genuinely nightmarish visuals it's the most dickless, mundane-ass basic bitch horror movie I've seen in a while.

That's a pretty good number for San Andreas. I'm happy for The Rock who is IMO one of the nicest and coolest actors in Hollywood right now.

His generic child friendly persona can go die in a hole though
