I don't get this biggest 'pure' Friday record. Last time I checked DH2 opened midnight which is part of Friday. DH2 made $91M in 24 hours. It wins on 'pure' Friday.

 

Just gives an indication of backloading. DH2 made almost half of its Friday business at midnight, which indicates crazy frontloading. DH2's $91m is an amazing number and I'm glad it still stands because it was a true 24 hour total, unlike everything else since TDKR.

It's a pointless statistic as the way moviegoers see blockbusters now has changed. Before huge crowds will go at Midnight and see tentpole movies first but after the TDKR incident previews are not as appealing.

The fact that 25 million people will watch the nba finals tomorrow at least and no more than 20 million will see this movie this weekend is a good number

You know what else is a good number? JW matching The Avengers in previews despite a NBA finals game airing at the same time.

That is not entirely true. TA2 made $9m more than JP4 in Thursday previews, yet their opening day gross is only $1.6m apart. It's a sign JP4 is headed for 200+ (maybe even well north of it) while TA2 came up short thanks to the Saturday sport events.

Home Alone sequel with Macaulay Culkin as the dad

 

That Home Alone 6 Pitch right there was nice, lol.  It would be like the true sequel to Two.  Maybe have them go back to New York or a Big City.  But you can't have Macauley just leave as the dad and have the new son face bad guys.  You kinda want him to have a big role though.  But yeah "Home Alone" is played every holiday season had 3 straight to video sequels.  Nostalgia Reboot is possible but you have to bring back Mcaculey to sell it but he doesn't look the same as he once did.

Like I said earlier, Universal is gonna make back JW's entire $150 million production cost just from 3 days of domestic grosses alone.
