FOX said it needs a number with a 4 in front of it, so 35M isn't good either.

shit. FOX better hope for a solid Saturday increase. But this is dead that's what you get when you reboot a comic book movie that no one cared about even 10 years ago.

If a few months back someone told you that 'F4's dom total will be under Furious 7's od' or that 'JW's 3rd weekend could be over F4's dom total'...

edit: or 'F4 dom under IO ow'...or 'F4 dom under half of Minions ow'. one can go and on. Very baffling.

Ant-Man had a 22M friday including previews. Can F4 go that low for its weekend?

Nobody (including critics) is saying they screwed up the casting. I think it's literally everything else about the movie.

No. I've seen critics saying Miles Teller slept walk through his performance in the latter half.

If you want to include marketing you have to include DVD, Bluray, TV rights and VOD. So it will turn a profit anyway.

Based on your math ASM2 should've had a sequel.

But Sony wasn't satisfied with the BO. I doubt Fox would be satisfied with < 250 m WW for FF.

Do people here remember that (wikipedia):

The Fantastic Four (1994)

The story of the film focused on four astronauts that were bombarded with cosmic rays from a comet while on an experimental space craft. In the process, they acquired extraordinary abilities.

In 1986, Bernd Eichinger of Constantin Film acquired the film rights of the Fantastic Four from Marvel Comics.[1] In 1992, Eichinger hired Roger Corman to produce a low-budget film in order to keep the rights. In 1994, the adaptation, titled The Fantastic Four, had its trailer released to theaters, and its cast and director went on a promotional tour, however the film was not officially released. The film was accused of being an ashcan copy, meaning it was only made to keep the license.[2]Stan Lee and Eichinger stated that the actors had no idea of the situation, instead believing they were creating a proper release.[3] Marvel Comics paid in exchange for the film's negative, so 20th Century Fox could go ahead with the big-budget adaptation. While the film was never released to theaters and home-video, it was released by bootleg video distributors.[2]

F4 should do under 25 million OW and with an OW at 24 million it's gonna do about 65-70 million domestic. Which is horrendous any which way, man this summer has been filled with about 9 misfires so far. That's rough 2014 had about the exact same at this point. 2013 had 11(almost 12 with Percy Jackson 2).
