Sony have been doing it since Open Season in 2006, other studios like Warner Bros and Focus have slotted family films as well, WB has Storks in that slot against Sony's Magnificent Seven next year although I could see either studio moving their film back a week. I think Sony will alternate SPA films with action films like The Equalizer 2 and MS, late September works for them

Open Season wasn't a hit in the U.S. It just broke even here

We use the word "fudge" too much. I know double features are technically fudging, but everyone does it, so it's not special.

I guess another way to think of it would be that stuff like Puerto Rico is old-world family-recipe homemade fudge, and drive in double features are the stuff they put in E.L. Fudge cookies. Technically "fudge", but not REAL fudge.

BOM is now updating his International section as well.

All hail Brad Brevet.

Even Deadline has started posting their weekend articles at midnight pacific from the "Whenever we feel like it" schedule they had over the summer. Weird that it took until after the summer movie season for everyone to become efficient.

Look at the very logical showdowns started by Brad, way better than the Pitch Perfect vs Pitch Perfect 2 showdown.

Hail Brad Brevet. We need to start a thread worshiping him.

That seems good enough... For anyone who is really good with OS numbers, what kind of total does this indicate?

IDK a ton about international numbers, but I think last weekend it was around 82 on BOM, so that means it pulled in another 40 this week which seems strong.    Not sure if it's opened in every market or not yet.

Also anyone else notice the insane amount of retweets Box Office gets when it's Maze Runner related, lol.

That's such a disappointing number for EVEREST.. They should've hired Michael Bay or Roland Emmerich to do the movie.. This should've done SAN ANDREAS type of numbers and opening.. This almost feels like a WWW Thread in the making, but I won't..

I love Michele Bay as much as anyone, but Everest just isn't his type of film
