Accursed Arachnid!™
Star Wars: The Force Awakens is going for 13 days in a row over 25m today. The short lived record holder before this was Jurassic World with FOUR days. Also, less than 30 years ago the Opening Weekend record(Beverly Hills Cop II at 26.35m) was less than TFA has made every day for its first 12 days. And they said Titanic's original run would never fall. Thanks to the popularity of Star Wars(with a little help from inflation, 3D and IMAX) a film has surpassed its original record in less than two weeks. Spoiler from film, but no other gif seems appropriate atm: Spoiler EDIT: We can't post gif from material not officially released AA

I don't really see it, it was a rather obvious joke about Hollywood and the studios. It's not like this is something entirely new, he made a similar joke about himself a few years ago, when he was trying his best to stay away from all the companies and the big movie-machine, only to turn into a head of a company himself. Maybe it wasn't the best way to word things by him, but the Variety article is pure clickbait that makes it sound like Lucas was somehow angry about things, which wasn't true at all. The interview makes that pretty clear actually. He has always used some rather drastic words for things, even against friends or himself, but always in fun. Trying to twist these words into something serious, like Variety did, is rather odd. Edited December 30, 2015 by George Parr

Rman823
Just finished ROTJ completing my first viewing of the saga. I gotta say that Machete Order really works for the story. Episode 6 really feels like a conclusion to both the OT and PT and should be the last film viewed before 7. Here's my final ratings. ANH 10/10 ESB 10/10 ROTJ 8/10 TPM 5/10 AOTC 6/10 ROTS 8/10
LonePirate
I'm starting to wonder how much of Daddy's Home grosses are due to TFA sell-outs and long lines. If a family of four with kids older than 8 find TFA sold out for the next hour or two, Daddy's Home seems like the most probable alternative as it is a family-based comedy that could appeal to multiple age ranges. The film is probably the top choice for young couples or young friends heading to TFA but not finding seats available. Older couples and groups might be split across several films. Still, I think a solid $2M, maybe even $5M+ of DH's gross is due to TFA sell-outs/lines. Any thoughts?

Last time I watched a french dubbed movie was... 2012? maybe. edit: Avengers in 2012 is the last time I watched a movie dubbed in French. Sadly you can only see movies in English in Montreal, Quebec City or cities close to the Ontario border. When Darth Sidious and Arnold Schwartzeneger are dubbed by Yves Corbeil, you know you're seeing shitty translation.
