Rocky IV or Jurassic World?

Hey!  Don't hate on Jurassic World!

Blue and Pratt's relationship is totally one of the best of 2015.

how many movie goers are left. its already made 630 million, if 20% of potential people who usually see this stuff still have to go this is not only hitting 1 Billion this is hitting 1.2

In a way you answered this yourself... there are a lot of people watching it, that do not normally see this stuff. Btw, strange assumption.

most people went to see avengers...it made 620, most people went to see jw. it made 650. realistically avatar success is owed to repeat viewings JUST like titanic and screaming DiCaprio fans. this is aiming for $1 Billion which either means star wars has the biggest following of any franchise, book movie or entertainment piece in living memory or its getting a lot of repeat viewings

Wrong. Tons of moviegoing people didn't watch those in a cinema out of those who go to the cinemas. Nor Avatar...

'Most' people who are cinephiles especially scifi. there are hardly any movie goers who skipped on movies like avengers...jw or avatar.

Agian wrong. A lot, yes. Especially open / accepting to Sci-Fi. But cinephiles are not the majority of cinemagoers, but they can be - depending on the place - the most vocal ones. And especially out of the cinephile group there is still an astonishing big part, that refuses to watch Sci-Fi, as in at all.

only Avatar fans

Wrong again. I've seen Titanic fans too, ... not important, it's always the same, the fans of the movie that either is in danger to get or just got dethroned. And similar. Guess why the admission discussions are again are so increasing

why would you consider insulting me praising TFA's run

because you pack additional quips into your 'praising'

I was joking.  I'm one of the few who've said 1 billion isn't locked yet.

I think you underestimate the percentage of people who not only say also it isn't locked, but also the ones who never said it will reach $1b.

I've read more doubters or saying too early to know... than believers.

Strangely quite a lot out of the ppl seemingly not being fans seem to post about the $1b being sure, that is, what I do not understand fully

As stated e.g. in yesterday's thread, I think earliest at next week's Thursday we might get glimpses enough to even start to calculate / guess.

As in very vague figures, the after the holiday possibilities in 'behaving' are not to see yet IMHO

People didnt bother with Mad Max because even though it was well directed. people checked out when you have people going a gazillion miles in one direction, stop and cry and go back in the other direction. I mean come on.

I know a lot of people who watch movies for their story, some do not like certain genres or are biased against them for whatever reasons. Some do not like 'end-of-time' stories, or won't watch movies with trailers looking like the story is a bit brutal

I think the - for some - non-couple-watchable thing is one of the reasons that Mad Max didn't make better BOs, and ...

It has nothing to do IMHO with your kind of formulation like 'didn't bother...'

Question about donations.  If I want to upgrade to a premium account, do I just need to donate 2 dollars, or do I need to donate another 10?

I think your post got missed, but I'd PM Water Bottle for that question

Hey boys, I don't know if somebody posted this, but BOS (France) made a Showdown quite interesting, if you haven't seen it, you will love it.

It's a good thing I can read french.

(just realized that may have sounded sarcastic. It wasn't)

Repost (older threads) as preperation for today and tomorrow:

The reduction of people willing to go into the cinemas e.g. hungover or the reduced showings by late opening cinemas seems to me rather clear = I'll won't get my hopes up for that day (and today too)

Don't know how to change the Y-axis scale but here's TFA (including Wed's 28m), Titanic, Avatar and JW adjusted, with the point where Titanic crossed a billion marked (19 weeks, 134 days):

Here's the spreadsheet if anyone else wants to mess with it

Cool, thank you, I haven't seen a per week one.

Might be a good idea to add:

Adjusted Chart

In case it's not too much work, could you add one of the more typical December performers?

I added in the past always LotR 3, but according to the pists someone gave, LotR 2 seems to have a better mp-relation (around 3). I think it's important for predictions... to not forget those high earner behave not like December and as we won't know which kind of pattern it will be before ~ in 1 week or so...
