5 Jurassic World Uni. $25,344,820 4,274 $5,930 6/15/15 4 $234.2 $652.3

This movie's run is simply absurd.

I also think I've pieced together where they're going with this trilogy...and in my mind it has the potential for some legendary story telling, and some insane holds from movie to movie.  But that's for another thread...maybe even another sub-forum.

I'm in a really shitty mood right now.

Don't worry, Star Wars will be over 90M when the actuals are released. Everything is gonna be ok.

 compare May 26 to December 17th in 2017 then come back to me. Either you haven't looked or are being purposely dishonest.

I hate that smiley. Listen... Newbie... First of all.

December 17th in 2017 is a sunday..

There are more available screens mid dec than in the summer time where 2 blockbusters open every weekend from may to july..

If SW move now it would go up against 1 SS movie who wil likely move or make 25 mill OW. From there on it faces 4 movies in 3 weekends..

Check out june and tell me that competition is'ent much worse..

I know schedule will change alot and Avatar 2 is lurking but you told me to compare the current one.... And you lost the arguement

I really don't see how this could fail to hit 1b domestically. Even DH2 had a 3.86x from its third weekend going forward. Similar legs from this point on for TFA would get the film to 991m. Shouldn't be too difficult to push it past 1 billion. It's definitely not a lock at this point but i still think its VERY VERY likely....

The minimum is $950M. Unless post-New Year grosses are utterly, utterly super dismal, TFA should hit $1B domestic, and beyond.

Also of note, last weekend 3rd weekend gross is a bit short of expectations. Everybody was expecting $90M+

It is still spectacular @$88M but the 40% drop is a concern for those who are absolutely sure this will do $1.1B to $1.2B dom.

What the hell are you chatting about? Stop being stupid.

Avatar 2 vs crappy summer blockbusters, thats the question. Avatar 2 is clearly the bigger competition.

Going to my sixth showing at 11pm tonight....imax.  Hoping its not too busy. This will be my third time seeing it alone. I have enjoyed seeing it alone more than seeing it with friends and family simply because I just like to take it all in all by myself it's almost like a higher state of consciousness lol.

Avatar 2 is not on the schedule.. Lets talk again if and when it gets there..

And if you think 6-8 blockbusters on both sides of SW8 is weaker than 6-8 weak movies in december i can't help you..

Let me be clear. SW8 will make less in May than in Dec. Both DOM and OS...

@SteveJaros is either the biggest troll on this site or he just doesnt understand how box office works. I'm going with the first one. I believe he is a troll because even the most basic rudimentary kindergarten level of understanding of box office and you would know that Star Wars will get past 900 million.

Damn that was brutal.

They should call you Baumer the Barbarian.

If Star Wars 7 makes more than $90m this weekend. It is going to break the record for biggest January weekend of all time. I think it will be the first time a film ever had the record for 2 months. I might be wrong though. Crazy stuff

Sw is doing ok. Its disappointing that it hasn't reached a billion yet. Also disappointing that it did not have third weekend of more than 120 million. It's all so disappointing that its only on track to beat avatar by about a quarter of a billion. I'm so disappointed in this run. It's really a shame I had high hopes for this Star Wars film. Oh well.
