I honestly find it to be the easiest live action musical of them all to watch. Most are kind of a chore for me to get through, even the ones that I still think are good (i.e. West Side Story, Sound of Music, Moulin Rouge). I've seen Chicago several times though and the runtime always flies by. It just doesn't have that grating feel most musicals end up getting for me.

Or even movies shot on films like the nolans and spielbergs and QTs are cut digitally ? I'm sure there are a couple people still, somewhere. But no, Michael Kahn cuts Spielberg's movies on an Avid. Same with Lee Smith for Nolan. Sally Menke also cut Tarantino's movies on an Avid (though he would only watch cuts on film, so her assistant editors had to conform a work print every time there was a screening).
La Binoche
Moulin Rouge > Chicago. Also, B- Cinemascore for The Boy. Solid for the genre.

How does that work? Do they have a digital camera attached to the film camera or do they digitise the film?
La Binoche
I'm watching The Equalizer. So far, so good. Two-time Oscar winner Denzel Washington is so watchable. Poor Will Smith.

Oh, you digitize the film -- instead of traditional dailies the lab does a telecine session and you end up with digital files.

Fancyarcher
WHOA RA2!! That's a massive drop. Guess this means RA3 isn't happening (I think I'm fine with that). Edited January 23, 2016 by Daniel Dylan Davis
Krissykins
So one minute all the openers were 8-11m then they were all above $11m on the high end and now none over $10m. Guess that storm did have an impact on the projections.
MovieMan89
Wtf, NORM is the one that has the good hold this weekend? What kind of abusive monstrous parents are subjecting children to this?
junkshop36
Damn. The storm is really wreaking some havoc on movies this weekend. If the weather is decent next weekend we'll probably see some pretty good holds.
DAJK
Maybe it's because the only other candidates are Norm of the North and Ride Along 2, but The Boy is the best movie of 2016 (so far).
