TFA raised the bar quite a bit.

The prequels had half the OS total.

Part of it is the general change in OS over that time period, though. Even in 2005 when Revenge of the Sith initially came out, China still wasn't quite a thing yet the way it is today. That having been said, TFA making more in the *UK* than Creed did *WW* is pretty impressive.

Edit - Shouldn't actuals be coming out soon?

Fox is going to utterly dominate the year.  Revenant, KFP 3, and Deadpool have all provided solid hits so far this year, and they definitely have more to come.

Thing is that Disney releases less films per year than Fox.  Definitely an issue.  Aside from those 3 films, Fox also has Apocalypse, ID: Resurgence, Ice Age, Gambit, Assassin's Creed, Trolls, and Ms. Peregrine's.  Eddie the Eagle, Other Side of the Door, and Mike and Dave also have a chance to be solid mid-level hits.  Should also get a boost from A Cure for Wellness and Why Him?  They have more films than Disney being released, which means they still have a shot.

Superb hold for Star Wars.  Late legs like this will net it an "extra" $10M vs. what I was projecting.  $940M instead of $930M.  Fantastic run.

I actually saw it on Sunday again.  I took both my parents.  Their first time in general, and my first time in IMAX 3D.  Of the six viewings I've had, this format was actually the most enjoyable.  Surprising since I'm generally not a fan of 3D.
