Comicbookmovie.com is saying that WB plans to release the extended cut in order to reach $1B, they say WB is pretty much counting on the fanboys to flock to the theater for it. It's not going to happen, $1B is dead.

I think you also underestimate overseas results.

Generally speaking some might say BvS is to US audiences what Shakespeare is to Homer Simpson.

Extended cut could fix that. Woot!

Re-releases work for immensely successful movies. How JP and Titanic came back years later because the original ones didn't have 3D. How how Avatar was re-released to add 10m million dom.

BVS extended cut won't add 5m ww. Better use it as a carrot to push blu-ray sales.

This whole re-release thing needs to stop. Seriously. A 3 hour cut to a movie that people didn't like isn't going to solve anything. In fact it's going to make people run the other way.

And what makes this whole situation funny is when this movie first came out there were plenty of us talking about how the movie is getting bad WOM and we were shut down because apparently we were being "trolls" and "haters." The only trolls are WB and Zach Snyder who think rereleasing this thing is going to get it to $1B.

A Homer Simpson would say that.

Man of Steel made 100 on home sales. This movie will probably beat that. Let's assume BvS reaches 900 million and WB goes for that Ultimate Cut in theaters, they won't make half the money for home sales. Use to hype of the Ultimate Cut for your advantage and make extra money.

CBM is full of it, they got the info from Umberto on his Heroic Insider scoop, he never said WB is planning to release it to reach a billion, he just said they are seriously considering it, CMB is just interpreting it differently.

I say save it from the BD release, it'll be a strong selling point, if they do release it in theaters, do it like in June or something, the heat will have died down and people will be more open.
