So, a question for the mods from n00b: Do superhero films usually drown the entire forum in fanboy dick-measuring like BvS has?

To be fair, the main BvS poster has Batman and Superman's faces inches away from each other looking like they are about to kiss. BvS has always been about dick measuring.

This is much worse than it generally has been in the past. However, the SW/Avatar thing shows maybe it's going to happen more often in the future.

Ban-hammers are ready.

Baseball? That's what we've become? It's a boring old man's game. It has evloved so little that they still hit a stitched leather ball with a wooden stick all while wearing wool uniforms and hats. Let's get up to date MLB.

Winner.

But mostly it's because mega-event movies upon which an entire cinematic universe rests upon that are poorly-reviewed like this is a pretty rare occurrence. Oh well.

Unfortunately, yes, and it can extend beyond CBMs. Really, anything where people have internalized their "brand" and so they take on an "us vs. them" position. (i.e. DC/Marvel, Fox/MCU, SW/Avatar, Tele/Baumer)

This bickering is pointless.

Ban early and often. Curate the forum you want to moderate.

The thing which is out of date is the absurd number of games they play each year.    160+ games....that's insane.   Clearly geared toward a 1920s audience who needed the daily diversion.   A team would actually need to win or lose 10 games in a row to have the same emotional impact of one NFL game on a season.   It's not hard to see why the NFL dominates US sports so thoroughly.

True.   The critical reception of BvS is a bit extreme and would ignite passions much more than a praised film or a "meh" film.   I would expect the same if SW7 had opened with a 29% RT score.

This place would have been burned to the ground if that happened.

There is only one Avatar film, no plural to fight over. Especially the way James is going, there may never be a plurality!!

I think we're going to have to see Wednesday's number to see BvS pass that threshold.

You want to change chess and backgammon too? We have plenty of new shit. It's nice if a few things can remain the same.
