I am stanning hard for my favourite german but ID R, the novelty of D Porn is gone, Big Willie is missing, nobody knows the It Follows girl.

I mean Jeff Goldblum is gonna Goldblum but will it be enough ?

I mean when GA sees the trailers they probably think : "oh great, more cities being blown up zzzzzzzzz..."

Why do people keep referring to the recent TMNT films as Michael Bay movies? He's been a producer on both films, not the director. This isn't like the Transformers films.

It's because he's a recognizable name so when he's attached to anything it'll be seen as his project. It's not just him; people associate the Cloverfield movies with JJ Abrams for example.

Considering the whole marketing campaign was built around the image of her as an iconic Disney villain, yeah.

So Angelina Jolie needs to cosplay as a Disney Cartoon villain to bring in the crowd. Such power!

maybe not that it's not iconic but it's nowhere NEAR the level of class of JP.

Everybody knows that.

However, unless everything goes wrong, I don't see this one making below the most recent Transformers movie. Especially when the marketplace will be starved for an action event film at that point.

I was still expecting a stronger number for TMNT II, perhaps it's target audience still shows up....8-15yr olds who don't get out of the house at dinner time/midnight for films and are dependent on weekend mall trips? Could we see a good % increase IF that's a valid factor?

Because....hate blinders are strong with the anti-Bay crowd.

Correct me if I am wrong but looking at BOM's All Time DOM charts, ID's 306m in 1996 was the #7 highest all-time DOM behind SW1, ET, TLK, JP1, GUMP, SW3.

(Right now it's at #51)

It's going to be fascinating to see how Fifty Shades Darker performs in February. IMO it has Sex and the City 2 written all over it.

It's BO gonna decrease by Fifty Shades.

The original poster compared the two, not me.  And I think we have to take those differences into account.  And again my original post was in regard to saying I don't think it can match the original.  245 still wouldn't do that, obviously.  I could be way off, but I just don't get the vibe that many people are excited for this film.  Is there any tracking out yet?  I'm also interested to see if Tarzan can get great reviews because I do think it could be a factor.  It's a huge uphill battle but if it's a great film and could surprise like Planet of the Apes did a few years back it could certainly cut into ID legs.
