They are pretty much fucked considering their budgets.

Meanwhile, the budget for the last two Purge movies were $10m each. They basically filmed the movie over two weeks and paid the actors with hamburgers.

Purge Director James DeMonaco is ready to do a Star Wars spinoff movie next!

But why not? Purge 2 opened to almost 30 million from 2.5 previews. I don't doubt that this one will be more front-loaded but to say that has no shot at 40 million is way jumping the gun in my opinion.

The conjuring is impressive to me, but that Tarzan number doesn't look great to me, considering the budget. I see it tanking.

It would be glorious to see Purge 3 open at number one and that stupid blue fish to take a tumble north of 45%.

Great for Purge 3. $35 million+ 4-day and $75 million+ DOM should happen. I think it could go higher due to everything except Dory, Conjuring 2 and CI doing mediocre numbers last month. 

 

Honestly $2.5-3 million was the best Tarzan could do. $23-25 million 4-day and a $50-60 million DOM total is at least better than Warcraft. 

 

BFG is a kids/family film, so $775k doesn't signal sub-$20 million 4-day quite yet. It could do $5.5 million today, it could surprise and do $9-11 million today. $6.5-8 million is my guess for today, but it has a wide range.

I just think it's a movie that's going to be front loaded. I see it falling around $35M.

Yes you could be right. 35 seems possible. I'm just hoping it follows the same trajectory as the second. Of it does it gets to about 39.5.

Lack of news on BFG while there's Purge and Tarzan number doesn't exactly fill me with hope that the film will breakout...

 

Also, I should get around to actually seeing these Purge films.
