Jonwo
Just now, Daniel Dylan Davis said: Wouldn't surprise me, but I doubt if they made a sixth one they'd have the child from the first one in it. The directors of the current Ice Age movies seem to have completely forgotten that humans exist in The Ice-Age World. For me, it would be a full circle to have the child who they rescued return as a teen or adult or create a different dynamic for a final film. It's strange they've forgotten about the humans. a2k
In Australia IA5 OW is 38% drown from IA4 OW. I haven't looked at the exchange rates but considering IA5 will be more front-loaded than IA4, the final total might end up behind by 40%+ in Australia. If IA5 falls 30-40% from IA4 DOM, then it will get 97-113M DOM. I think there's a chance it could end up behind ANGRY BIRDS (~107M after the dollar run - currently at 106.13M)
Planodisney
Dory with exact same drop Toy Story 3 had Monday following a Monday ID holiday. -78% Should see big bumps all around tomorrow. Edited July 12, 2016 by Planodisney

I think a final film with a slightly less slapstick premise might be more appealing than previous sequels. Having humans in it after a decade of no humans in the films would shake things up.

Plus, even after the shit weekend, Dory's only $19.7m behind TDK. We've got about $13m of a buffer left before Dory's dreams are true and dead. But, I never thought a movie like SLOP had a real chance of grossing more than Zootopia. And, honestly, I don't expect it to either. But, man oh man, what a year for mainstream animation with Zootopia, Jungle Book, Dory and now SLOP. I always thought SLOP had a chance at $300-320 million DOM, but definitely did not think more than Zootopia or possibly Jungle Book DOM. And there's still more animation to go! Storks, Moana and Sing should all do $135 million+ DOM 5 hours ago, TalismanRing said: Huge difference between more than a 3 multiplier and the near 4 multiplier that IO had though. Exactly. Ice Age 5, Nine Lives, Pete's Dragon and Kubo aren't huge competition, but they're enough to prevent a 4x off a $104 million OW. 3.3x-3.7x is about what I'd expect. 5 hours ago, Gopher said: How low is Ice Age gonna go? Pets/Dory have cornered the market and will combine for 40 mil that weekend. We've seen sequels this year target families and offer nothing new. Those sequels then pulled in a fraction of the last film's gross. Star Trek will target any audience above the age of 12 that weekend too. I think 30 mil opening and 100-110 sounds about right to me. 24-27/80-90 sounds more likely. Pets could very well be making $25-30 million that weekend, and this summer has seen unwanted sequels plummet (Neighbors 2, Alice 2, TMNT 2, NYSM2, IDR). Dory and Pets doing huge numbers doesn't help its cause, either. And BFG provides some clutter, too. Pete's Dragon and Kubo also remove any chance of real late legs. $70-90 million DOM is my guess.
