Everyone bellyaching about Trek dying and there being no more movies apparently thinks that Trek lives in a vacuum... Seriously 1 film underperforms and its the end of the world? Y'all are acting like this is a Nemesis level problem.

I personally think they'll be another film. This isn't the same as Nemesis and Enterprise where the franchise was on its last legs.

Lol. My SS prediction will come true so no. And SP is doing great numbers on social media so...

X-Men, Star Trek, and Bourne have all opened in the $60M range this summer (and basically had overlapping demos). Ghostbusters opened just a few million shy of $50M too. These numbers are probably going to be par the course for franchises that are popular but haven't really, truly captured the public imagination beyond the faithful.

I really don't think they are going to do another Trek movie.

They will be sticking to Trek on TV with Star Trek Discovery on CBS streaming.

Trek does very well in ancillary and also rejuvenates the back catalogue and boosts any TV series.  Even if the film only eventually breaks even then it's worth it to Paramount to make another

Because social media activity always correlates into big numbers. Oh wait...

No, because it's presales reports done by our members in the tracking thread put this non-sequel movie quite close to CW/BvS. But I am done talking about this. If you people want t predict 110-120m for this you can be my guests.

For the record, I'm predicting a $130M opening. FYI.
