There's nothing Not Bad about it. 26 mill OW is probably more than any of us thought it would do in total.

Plus, its previews started at 6pm (2 hours earlier than Trainwreck) and it earned an A in Cinemascore which that and Spy did not do. Saturday should be very kind to it today especially with positive feedback on social media and Flixster.

Bourne's gonna drop 55%+ next weekend

giphy-4.gif

And I am prepared for it. No problem. I am expecting a 56-58% against a 100M+ opener. Still better than a 61% drop against a 60M opener :rofl:And Trek will be below 10M next weekend after another brutal 56-59% drop

The Bourne Ultimatum fell 53% in its second weekend. Even if Jason Bourne does fall 45% against Suicide Squad that would be more than normal. Star Trek falling 60% is just hilarious.

55% would be a totally normal drop. After Suicide Squad it has a totally clear playing field

Not really, 3 wide releases each week will force theaters to clear things out a bit.

I still think there are plenty, but they get shoved into Sept/Oct now.

There will always be awards contenders, but 'plenty' is certainly not a word I'd use to describe the state of the mid-budget film at this point. The fact that they're all shoved into a very small window kinda confirms that.

Sorry bro, but it is. Identity is the only Bourne movie that didn't drop 52%+ in its second weekend.

Well duh

Name a reason why it the first movie didn't fall over 50% and that's because it was the first movie LOL the sequels were bound to fall over 50% in their second weekend because there's more upfront and then to see them. This is box office one on one dude.

Legend of Tarzan got destroyed by Jason Bourne

That's one way of looking at it another way is that it lost around 1000 theaters so it's bound to drop massively this weekend.

except none of those will likely do good. After Suicide Squad it should be similar to August 2015 where every movie had good holds due to lack of competition
