Also a pretty good start for Peregrine 65 million WW in its first weekend and 28.5 million Domestic. Really want a sequel out of this one. The 3D was amazing as well. Great depth and even some cool pop outs

Terrible numbers for Deepwater O/S and it doesn't look like M7 do more O/S. than Dom  They both might wind up doing less than Bridget WW.

I thought the 3D did nothing for me aside from the time loop scene, where the rain droplets popped out pretty nicely.  The 3D felt unnecessary to me tbh.

And I really didn't like the film either.

It kinda deserves it.  But a family could probably enjoy it with little to no problems as long as they don't have a sensitive child.

In the 80's it would have definitely have been rated PG though, even with scary imagery and violence. The MPAA has gotten very strict with the ratings since the 2000's, this of course has been well-documented.

I think anyone around 9-11 would be fine but I'd be hesitant to have anyone really young see it, same situation with Jurassic World which was a lot more intense.

Did anyone ever honestly expect Mag7 and Deepwater to make much overseas? They are the definition of domestic only movies.

Who cares, man. You can still bring children to a PG-13 movie.

Deepwater Horizon is rolling out over several months but TBH it'll probably do best in the UK and Australia. Lionsgate likely sold the foreign rights so won't seeing any of the OS income apart from the UK where they distribute.

Am I the only one who feels The Girl On The Train marketing has been forgettable? I mean the only reason I remember the film is because it's coming out. Everytime I see the trailer i'm like "I think I have seen this trailer before" only to be proven right when the title appears.

I agree and especially on the commercials.  They are terrible and they might screw up a sure thing.

So, where's the persons that doubted when I said that Don't Breathe would have a 3.0x multiple? It is going to finish with at least $90m and a 3.4x multiple, it never had a bigger drop than 50%, biggest multiple for a horror movie since the first Insidious, this movie is a beast.

Conjuring was pretty close though if not right there. I'm sure there's probably only a fraction of a difference in multipliers.

I've seen a crap ton of advertising for Deepwater over the weekend so they were clearly trying to sell it over here.
