Wow, dysmal weekend. FB's 75M OW is good enough, but I frankly expected more, gotta admit. Yeah, yeah, say what you will about how "it's not Harry Potter at all" NOW, when the whole point of its marketing campaign and the excitement surrounding it was that it was. Whatever. Still feel good about myself when I predicted that it was gonna play much more like an original film than a HP film after the previews dropped, and those holds prove such. Not at least matching Strange is surprising, though. Then, all of the holdovers except Hacksaw Ridge dropped HARSH. The new releases except Beasts bombed bad (and Edge Of Seventeen had something going for it). And Moonlight couldn't even break into the top 10. Ugh.

At least Manchester By The Sea got a pretty good PTA.

Miles Teller's career continuing to implode.

I meant what for a film, it's seemingly a sport related film. I missed it's release somehow beside having taken a look a the release charts

I have to ask.

Did anyone outside the Marvel-fandom, expect Doctor Strange to open as high as $85M....and probably now leg it's way to $200M?

Some other people had it at $60-70M. Who had that prediction?

I didn't. Vastly underestimated Strange's appeal.

Percentage of First 3 Days coming from Opening day for Potter films

PS: 35.8%

CoS: 33.5%

PoA: 40.8%

GoF: 39.1%

OotP: 50.0%

HBP: 54.4%

DH1: 49.3%

DH2: 53.8%

Fantastic Beasts: 39.6%

Clearly not performing like the later Potter films. GoF seems to be the best comparison moving forward....similar legs will get this to 212m. Hoping for 40M this Thanksgiving weekend!
