Predictions for Best Animated Feature aka only category that matters:

Zootopia

Finding Dory

Moana

Kubo and the Two Strings

Kung Fu Panda 3

Replace Kung Fu Panda 3 with The Red Turtle, and I agree.

Although it would be nice to see KFP3 get some recognition this year.

But if you look at the history of this award, they usually go for more mainstream picks. That's why I didn't include Your Name or Red Turtle.

Hmm, I guess that's right. But I wonder The Secret Life of Pets might have more sway, like @Blankments said.

Looking through the nominations, I think the only obscure animated movies nominated by the Golden Globes are Anomalisa and The Illusionist.

Totally possible, but my money is on KFP3, especially since it was better received by critics and got an Annie nomination for best animated feature while Secret Life of Pets didn't

I'm no good at predicts for anything but major categories, but we can probably already guess Supporting Actor, Best Actor, Best Actress. Not so much Best Picture in either category...

La La Land might win all of its nominations except Screenplay, that's six Globes right there.

It's possible but I thought they were past the days when they would reward The Hangover or RDJ in Sherlock Holmes just because those movies made the most bank. Besides, LLL should be a hit in its own right, and everyone likes Gosling. And it can serve as an unspoken award for The Nice Guys in addition to LLL.

It's the Golden Globes. Money talks aka if a studio wants that W they'll pony up the money. You should have realized that when Matt Damon was nominated and won last year for The Martian...not that he's not deserving but The Martian wasn't a comedy or a musical.

Would i be upset if Reynolds got nominated and won? Nah but that's because I loved Deadpool and his performance carried that film. Do I think it will happen? No but I also wouldn't be shocked one bit if it did though.

This is all hypotheticals of course. I know for sure Gosling will get nominated. Not too sure on the other Ryan as I can see them putting George Clooney in there instead.

I think Gosling could get a nom for The Nice Guys here too. When an actor has a banner year they usually nominate them for both performances, so I it's possible despite The Nice Guys being a summer release that didn't make much at the box office.

Didn't that happen to Gosling a few years ago? Or was he nominated the same year but in different categories. I'm too lazy to look it up. But I agree with this. I enjoyed The Nice Guys. Surprised it didn't do well at the box office but I don't think that should matter.

if Gosling didn't have La La Land, he would get a nom for The Nice Guys imo so he could get two here.

Holy shit Mel Gibson! Best Director, Best Picture, Best Actor noms! Also, holy shit Deadpool! Best Picture Comedy and Best Actor Comedy. Wow, Globes!

This is pretty awesome. Some predictable poop nominations aside (they had give Chastain a pity nom in Drama since Benning and Stone went Comedy/Musical), many nominations are inspired. Viggo Mortensen for Captain Fantastic! Silence snub! Maslany snub! Westworld domination! Excellent!

But no Arrival except for Actress.
