Besides, LLL should be a hit in its own right, and everyone likes Gosling. And it can serve as an unspoken award for The Nice Guys in addition to LLL. You should have realized that when Matt Damon was nominated and won last year for The Martian...not that he's not deserving but The Martian wasn't a comedy or a musical. Would i be upset if Reynolds got nominated and won? Nah but that's because I loved Deadpool and his performance carried that film. Do I think it will happen? No but I also wouldn't be shocked one bit if it did though. This is all hypotheticals of course. I know for sure Gosling will get nominated. Surprised it didn't do well at the box office but I don't think that should matter. if Gosling didn't have La La Land, he would get a nom for The Nice Guys imo so he could get two here. Some predictable poop nominations aside (they had give Chastain a pity nom in Drama since Benning and Stone went Comedy/Musical), many nominations are inspired. Viggo Mortensen for Captain Fantastic! Silence snub! Maslany snub! Westworld domination! Excellent! But no Arrival except for Actress.
