Bit of a late response here but I'd say the only thing that would slow down Star Wars at this point is younglings being slaughtered onscreen. I can imagine even kids going crazy during those final few minutes and then playing out THAT scene as they leave the theater. Hell, I'm an adult and it made me want to do that! :D

Revenge of the Sith had younglings being killed and it made $510m adjusted (easily $550m+ with 3D/IMAX pricing). Nothing stops this train!

Youre not alone @Hatebox

I am one of the biggest Star Wars fans out there and I really didn't think it was going to have this much interest in it either. It does have someone of a chance to go to 600 million. That is just astounding to me.

It's definitely resonating with the public.

I thought it was good, but not great (though I could watch ****mod edit**** spoilers not allowed).  However, when the film ended, there was substantial applause, which surprised me and convinced me this would have strong WOM.

Delicately, and suggested off-screen.

True. ROTS still easily remains the darkest of all the SW movies IMO, and it had no problems gobbling tons of money, so the concerns regarding RO's dark tone always seemed silly to me.

That is still exacty the scene I broke 'faith' with the PTs in a way, that atrocity would in my POV exclude Anakin from being taken back into the Jedi circle of the ghostery version ;)

Lucas did some other changes, nothing to the degree I felt bothered with, but that one is IMHO a much too big step over what is redeemable in that - especially as only one action back to the good side - fast way in part 6

Hilarious reading the RO OW thread now. When the preview #s came in, everyone was freaking out. The most hilarious moments in retrospect were a large amount of people assuming bad WOM and a really low multi for the Holidays based only off the preview #.

To be fair it was when looking at the presales and Thursday sellout numbers, and then when the $29m showed up it gave the possibility that maybe it was all fans and not many walk-ups.

But yes, hindsight is 20/20, a lot of those comments were very premature (or maybe a lot of them were just people trying to make bold statements to get attention and likes on the forum).

One was killed on screen by a Clone Trooper in front of Bail Organa

That was a padawan, not the 4-5 year olds Anakin accosted in the Jedi Council chamber.

Plus you never actually see the blaster bolt hit, it's all filmed from the back so you just see the padawan fall.

For some reason, that was the most impactful death of that entire sequence for me.  Something about it resonated with me more than watching any of the other Jedi get wiped out.

Agreed. Even the part with the younglings just seemed off.
