Me bad with names, and never know if names I know or feel as familiar about are translated or not. Yep, from Highlander. The Kurgan was the psycho out-of-his-mind villain from the only first Highlander film. Methos was 'The World's Oldest Immortal' who became a memorable fan favorite toward the last third of the Highlander TV Series. Methos also had a bit of a Dark Secret about his past, but we won't go into that here. Edited January 4, 2017 by Porthos
baumer
Deadpool being nominated for best adapted is the best news of the day for me. It's a genuinely brilliant script and it's also one of the funniest films of the year. WGA got something very very right in doing so. Way to go WGA!!

Methos was, was got me thinking Highlander (the series, I love sword fights, hence I know the series), now as you say 1st film - me: headslap. I am really bad with names. Just looked it up again, his bio is a bit funny to read: Spoiler Quote He is former National Trampoline Champion Peter ran the 1995 London Marathon in 3 hours 8 minutes. (personal best 3h straight) He plays saxophone and flute to studio standard. He holds an Advanced Level Stage Fighting certificate. Represented Wales in the national club finals for pole vaulting. Peter is a good standard soccer goalkeeper and used to play in charity matches for the Arsenal Celebrities XI. ... Peter trained as a doctor at Brasenose College, Oxford and St. Bartholomew's Hospital Medical College, but chose an acting career just prior to graduation. Peter caught the acting bug as a teenager at the National Youth Theatre in Wales and his drama training was at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.... As of August, 2011, Peter has returned to medical school, attending the University of Vermont, to become a doctor. He graduated in May 2015. He is now doing his residency training at San Diego at Scripts Mercy and the University of California San Diego. Peter has chosen to go into the field of anaesthesiology. ... and still acts from time to time I've seen the whole series, so yeah, I know his secret. Love Jim Byrnes' music, and the outtakes of the series is funny. Great extras on the DVDs Jim Byrnes and swordfights and the first Highlander film = I had to take a look.

I tried watching it but couldn't get into it. It's like The Help but with more math and more sass. It's overly sassy. Are all black women really that sassy in real life? There's a scene where one of the characters has to use the "colored" bathroom and she has to run there and even that is played with sass and for laughs. Personally I find that more sad than funny.

JonathanLB
I got Hidden Figures the other day, will watch soon but not gonna lie it sounds and looks horribly boring. How is that going to connect with any actual audience besides the navel gazing awards voters?!
