Wonder Park | Paramount | March 15 2019 | Director fired due to "Inappropriate Conduct"

Like, I'm always rooting for animation... but it doesn't matter how good the animation is if the people involved are disrespecting the target audience with insultingly generic storytelling. Hopefully this film's failure doesn't scare Paramount away from animation as a whole.

Paramount Animation's output is so much weaker than all the other big studios. WB Animation has LEGO, Sony has Spider-Verse, Disney is gonna own three separate animation divisions soon when they get Blue Sky and Universal has two with Illumination & Dreamworks. Paramount Animation has... Gnomeo & Julliet, Sonic and this. Yeesh

Technically, they do have SpongeBob and Rugrats.

Plus, Skydance is looking to get into animation. In a controversial move, Skydance Animation hired John Lasetter as an executive (without Paramount's permission).

This thing better be good and overperforms big time. Otherwise Chile's +5 year record of having at least one animated movie in the top ten is screwed.

Huh? There are no other animated films coming out this year that could do well in Chile?

Toy story 4 or lion king or frozen 2 ...?

They do have the Nickelodeon characters plus Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles but it's not as rich as IP compared to Warner Bros or Disney.

Ninja Turtles and the Loud House movie are both going to Netflix

I mean, in the last 5 years (at least,) there's has been at least one animated movie on the top ten every single week, but there's nothing between this in March 14th and Ugly Dolls on May 16th.

So far the closest call was on April 12-18th 2018 were the only animated movie was the 21th week of Coco in tenth. Then OS animation came to the rescue.
