The AV Club review makes it sound like a gem:

Quote

Damon plays the character with at least five different intensities of Irish accent, and they cycle randomly from scene to scene, as though on demo mode

Only reason I'm looking forward to this is Damon's accent and terrible line delivery.

Lol.

I said TGW DOM made 970k from midnights and Warcraft did 3.1m on Weibo. Then Legendary East felt unhappy, and it seemed their staff meant to ask me remove it.

Seriously? Such a thin skin, you were just relaying facts.

I don’t tell this kind of joke in here. They showed us the screenshot of the Weibo in private, but said nothing when we asked what the problem is with it.

A critic said “Zhang Yimou is dead” when TGW opened in China. Most people felt uncomfortable about this but still could understand he meant Zhang Yimou couldn't make a movie like Hero or House of Flying Daggers any more. CEO of Letv(one of the investors) claimed he would get subpoenaed by court because of abusive behavior.

how is this film doing in China?

As of February 12, it has made $170,419,263 in China. I think its international run is out of steam by now.

To give the movie some credit, last night's 9:15 showing was more filled than I expected it to be. There were almost 40 people there. I counted...

Dailan Wanda thought it was a disappointment because it was projected to make much more than that.

Also, its budget is $150 million and it's only made $224.5 million. It's an obvious loss for Universal as well as Legendary.
