3rd Update, Friday Night: Refresh for chart If there’s a tale as old as time at the box office this weekend, it’s the non-stop trend that premium brands are much bigger stars than the talent on the poster.

 

 

This weekend we have Disney’s Beauty and the Beast grossing a massive $81M in its second run at No. 1 followed by Lionsgate’s Saban’s Power Rangers with an estimated $42M.

It is having a Friday of 15M based on Deadline's number. Not sure how that makes Rth wrong. And they are expecting a generous 50% increase tomorrow as well. Might not hit the 42M either

It didn't. Deadline have the wrong number for PR, they changed it and BATB's number. 22M Friday would have given it 55M weekend. Wait for their chart which should be up shortly.

To be fair, Kong and BATB both had huge Saturday increases too. Could happen again. Expected numbers besides that. BATB is a little lower then many predicted but Sat could change that real quick. If not, it is showing some signs of being slightly more front loaded then some have said. Can't really determine anything yet though and it's still going to finish with a huge number.
