Is 500m dom still in play for Peculiar Belle ?

Yup.

Let's say it does $90m this weekend...that'll put it at $318m.

Let's say its weekdays fall 38%-40% from its first week...that gives it $33m which puts it at $341m by the end of its second week. Giving it a 45% drop on its third weekend would be around $45.5m.

So by the end of next weekend, it'll roughly be around $386m coming off a $45.5m weekend. End of its fourth weekend would be $425m-$430m.

So most likely it will.

Wow. Thats a horrible number for Life. So disappointed

It's weird. Life should beat PR in Australia yet do a third of the business Domestic.

Remember Kong was projected 12am for 54 and got 62 PR can do the same

RTH also predicted the same numbers too. However Kong was less frontloaded than Power Rangers, since its audience is in less of a rush to see it.

I don't think a $42 million opening for a movie that cost Lionsgate $25 million-ish necessarily precludes a sequel. Especially if it holds decently and does well enough overseas that they can command good prices for foreign rights next time.

With Hunger Games over and Divergent DOA they're kind of desperate for a franchise.

Target audience for the Power Rangers movie is definitely not 5 year olds (though there were some at the theatre). It's aimed at millenials (ugh I hate that word). Very PG-13. Very character-driven.
