F8's weekend numbers are really pretty good.

It's playing a lot more like a weekend movie than the previous films given the terrible weekday drops. Still has some work to do to catch up with F6 though.

DaVinci is a treasure of this forum. Do. Never. Ever. Ban!

Edit: @drdungbeetle Almost everything held exceedingly well during this weekend. Lack of serious new openers helped the entire field immensely.

While true their Sunday projection is overly optimistic at -17% *eye roll*

Maybe they think because its Earth Day weekend, the spill over on Sunday will cause a soft drop.

Fate of the Furious held about as well as can be expected for such a frontloaded property.

Boss Baby, Beauty and the Beast, Going in Style, and Smurfs all had really stellar holds, no doubt thanks to the openers bombing. Born in China did alright given the low theater count, but the rest pretty much flopped completely (looks like Lifetime projects and reality shows are the next step for Katherine Heigl).

Gifted looks to finish with a solid $20M. The Lost City of Z had a good expansion although we'll see how it does from here: a film with such languid pacing is definitely not gonna be everyone's cup of tea.

I could see The Circle going sub-$10M if the reviews end up being especially rotten (which appears could possibly be the case). Weekend could definitely be the calm before Rocket Raccoon's storm.

I think it was the other way around: he called everyone else racist for not thinking she's a lead like Brie Larson (even though Tian's character has very few lines and is entirely superfluous).

Did she even have any lines?

I just got an idea for Gremlins 3...

"Gremlins 3: White House Takeover"

Yes please

You know, WAG could make a pretty dope Gremlins movie. Not as good as Gremlins 2: The New Batch though

BATB:

Remainder of this week: 4.5M (475.6M Total)

Apr 28: 7M (3.2M weekdays, 485.8M Total)

May 5: 4.5M (2.1M weekdays, 492.4M Total)

May 12: 2.8M (1.3M weekdays, 496.5M Total)

May 19: 1.5M (700k weekdays, 498.7M Total)

May 26: 900k (1M weekdays, 500.6M Total)

Final Total: 504M (2.88x)

I don't see it missing 500M at this point. It isn't locked, but the next couple of weeks and Mothers Day should get it there. If not, Disney will probably fudge it.

Jesus! Ghost in The Shell is dropping like a rock, or should I say Shell? :)

It dropped 60.9%, then it dropped 66% and now it has another 63% drop.

Losing well over 1K theaters in its third and fourth weekend hasn't helped.

Will it even make 40 million at this point?
