Not sure how true it is because I have doubt paramount would give a 3 months window for sub-100m grosser. Still would a great news if this true and positive news for 70m finish.

Apple exclusivity deal window post theatrical would make lot of sense, before having the movie available online for non appleTV user on VOD ?

Since this is Apple production, he's getting no residuals. Still, 40M....it's a lot, even for him

Streaming still has residual and this will have theatrical+ VOD, but participation bonus would be quite limited if any..

The classic big movie stars deal tended to be around $20M+10% gross (with access to 25 even 30% of home video and a small front the top removed) when they do not have to share the screens with an other major stars (or if they did the movie budget being the pair like Depp-jolie on the Tourist), turning their average paycheck probably around that number $40M baring any disaster and around $60-80 on the big success.

People are very mad in the QRTs because of.... a joke about intermissions?

Yeah it's a much messier quotes/comment section than you'd expect, between the posters defending the "disrespect" to Scorsese and Schoonmaker, the Marty haters using the PVOD run to mock KotFM's box office, and Apple TV+ subscribers annoyed it's not being dropped on the platform right away.

I remember theaters were putting intermission with KOTFM, and Apple was angry for some reason.

Throwing in a random intermission was technically against the theatrical licensing agreement (though some other countries outside the US do this routinely, even with shorter movies). Thelma Schoonmaker was outspoken about the impromptu intermissions being a "violation".

Purists say the movie wasn't made with an intermission and consider adding one disrespectful to Scorsese's vision for the film. Others argue in favor of the practical considerations of an audience watching a 3.5 hour movie (plus previews) in a theater without comfort breaks. The whole controversy has led to rather heated social media discourse.

I  can see both sides. I think any movie over two and half hours shoud have an intermission for obviious reasons, but the intermissions should be planned, should be scripted like they once were.. The "I will never be Hungry Again" scene from Gonr With The Wind and  the "THank Heave I am not riding a whirlwind like that fellow" from Lawrence of Arabia being examples of scripted Intermissions. Random intermissions are not the way to do it.

I think Gandhi was the last big release with a planned intermission written in.
