Fake
14 minutes ago, Quigley said: $18M weekend from China means $14.5M from the rest of the world, compared to $32M from last weekend. 55% drop. Quite frontloaded despite Solo being a very quiet opener ($65M weekend). Two weeks til Jurassic World 2. $49M global weekend. Assuming it's making about 30% of its weekend gross on weekdays (based on what it made last week), it will need 44% drops from now on to reach $2B. Not impossible but with China likely to drop much more than 44% from now on, other countries will have to make up for it. The weekend number may still increase with actuals (last weekend OS went up by a significant amount). 2B is going to be very close.

It will be between 1.990-2.010 in the end. We are at a point where every dollar matters and even small weekday and weekend grosses outside of the U.S will prove to be very significant. I hope you’re right. I like being pessimistic so that i don’t get disappointed. Really rooting for 2 billion. Sucks it won’t beat TFA though! ZeeSoh
It has about 20m in China and about 40m in Dom to go which will take the total to 1.965b. If China gets an extension then it may add another 5 million there. It could do better Dom than 660 that I am projecting and add another 5-10m there. This takes the total to 1.98b. This means that OS has to add about 20m more after a 14.5m weekend. It is still possible to get to 2 billion but it will be very close. Hopefully the actuals come in much higher tomorrow

Since Disney really wants AWIT's 100M to happen, give AIW a 2B push cause fans actually care about it (while no one cares about AWIT crossing 100M not even Oprah). Fake
IW is on track for the following numbers: DOM - 665M CHN - 355M OS-C - 975M That's 1995M. Just need 5M more. An extension in China or better holds in DOM should do it.

Asyulus
Remember TF4 having a worldwide gross of initially $1.087b? Then $1.091b and eventually $1.104b. Shows how Paramount uses magic science.
Fake
Just saw that for DOM, Disney has projected 13.2% drop for Sun. AoU, CW and GotG2 all dropped 3-4%. So there will be at least $0.5m increase from DOM. WW weekend should cross $50M after actuals. Next weekend is pretty empty. If DOM can do 10M+, then it will finish with 670M. China Sunday drop is also encouraging.
Asyulus
Last week what was the $ difference of OS-C estimates to actuals? $2 billion will depend on OS-C holds.
IronJimbo
$2b is extremely arbituary all things considered. It's already locked for #4 WW so theres not really much to follow anymore. Dom it's still battling for positions

fabiopazzo2
DEADLINE UPDATE: Outside of China, the pic dropped by 58% across the Asia-Pacific region. As a region, estimated box office has now reached $735M, which makes this the No. 2 biggest western release of all time. It is now the top release in industry history in the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, India (western), Thailand (western), Vietnam and Mongolia, as well as the No. 2 release of all-time in Hong Kong and Korea (western). In Latin America, the drop was 58% regionally with the total for the group of markets $208M. A:IW is now the biggest movie ever across the region in admissions. It will become the highest grossing release of all time Tuesday. Thor, Cap, Iron Man and company have bragging rights to starring in the biggest release in industry history in Brazil, Mexico, Central America, Chile, Ecuador and Peru. Europe saw a 56% drop for a $339M regional cume. It’s the top superhero movie ever and the top grossing in the genre in Belgium, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Macedonia, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Switzerland, UAE, Ukraine and the UK. 5
bladels
Bigger drop than expected. $1B OS-China is 99% dead I think the drop is caused by Disney moving screens for Solo. Maybe IW can recover when weekend is over and screens move back to it.

Even taking out China, that’s a staggering total for Asia-Pacific region. Europe region total is good for the kind of movie it is. Weird to say, but what holds back the OS total is Latin America. In local currencies, IW handily beat TA and established record grosses across the region; yet in dollars, the total is not that far from what TA ended with in 2012.
