All joking about crumbling aside, including my own from yesterday, I do absolutely expect the local comp from Sacto to start coming down as the seats available are starting to become a bottleneck.  At least the pure comp which doesn't factor in PWPs.

 

On the other hand, there is the immense amount of Private Watch Parties that are being sold.  Some theaters are completely sold out on PWPs and a few more only have a couple of slots left.

 

No real clue where it's gonna land.  All I can say is that there are healthy sales locally and leave it at that.

A new AMC theater opened in Denver this month, so I added that today. I did not add the new theater's totals to the seats sold in the past day, or the new showings and seats added. So the 219 tickets sold the past day are all from the 8 theaters I've been tracking the whole time, a pretty solid increase. Just for the record, there are 52 tickets sold at the new theater so far. I will be adding the new theater to tickets sold the past day and for new showings added starting tomorrow.

One thing I wanna note, capacity should not be an issue. It is at least 50% here, and there are even some showings with more than 50%. But those are small auditoriums so they may go off of a capped number of people instead. So if there's a big ramp-up in the coming few days up to release, it should be very noticeable here.

Another solid day. I think somewhere around double this number is possible with current shows. But it will add more shows as well. If I have to guess I am thinking 150K MTC1 and 130K MTC2 finish. Without Regal, I would say that would be at least 50-60% the overall BO(so around 6-7m OD). But I could be wrong as its hard to predict during COVID.  There are also PWP and so overall BO will be higher.

Idk if there's potential for that much growth, but 10% increase for next 4 days and a 40% increase on final day will give $6.5M pre-sales.

 

WW84 had $4M final pre-sales and $6M final day one excluding PWPs. That's 1.5 Psm.

 

If we get 1.4 Psm, $10.5-11M OD possible.

I used to track theatre counts for MTC2 through the theatre name but that is not accurate as there are duplicates. So I updated theatre count using theatre id which is more accurate. On MTC1 the theatre count is low relative to theatres I am tracking is either due to theatre not having reserved seating or  its open friday to sunday.  You will see more theatres for weekend shows.

Still beating KoTM by 3x. Damn. Sac town do want to watch this film. 53% tickets sold, I believe that's with may be 25-30% seats allowed, but still quite great. 

 

The overall count, 4000 T-4 days itself is par many $15M Thursday night openers I believe.

The director of the film mentioned they’re looking for this film to beat WW84s worldwide number. With 70m opening weekend in China it should easily do that. 
 

the buzz seems like it’s there for this film. It’ll be interesting to see how HBOMax affects it going forward. I wonder if allowing a full month in theaters then having it available on HBOMax would be the better option? When you think of it more and more day and date simultaneous just doesn’t make sense FINANCIALLY

WW84 is a joke target, it will beat that with OS alone by the 2nd weekend. Tenet is a natural target.

I am happy for Warner with these China results so far. Hopefully, this movie will continue to grow subs. China is going to be the biggest difference between this movie and WW84 overseas. In this country, it should surpass it quite significantly too, as WW84’s released when only 40% of movie theaters were open and major markets like CA and NY were closed. I definitely think if the GvK director said that he was looking to bear WW84 numbers, he was trying to temper expectations.

Good increase over past 24 hours. 30%+ increase at both MTC and more shows have sold out at this point. Challenge is limited potential for a big burst on the final day. I am sticking with my prediction earlier of 150K MTC1 and 130K MTC2. Also PWP is looking like 1 million OD which is quite good. Weekend sales are stronger for PWP. I am thinking 7-8m OD which is quite good considering its normal mid week outside summer.

That would mean roughly $4.75M in MTC 1 & 2. In normalcy, that will be $13M Approx Nationwide but with Regal and almost all of Canada closed, should be around $9.1-9.5M.

 

+1-1.5M PWPs.

 

I don't know if it can hit 150K MTC 1 and 130K MTC2, but if they hit those, 10-11M OD shall happen.
