At the same point in its run, Avengers: Age of Ultron was grossing $450k

It's not just summer weekdays. GOTG2 has terrific late legs.

Actually AOU did $718,865 on its 41st day compared to $826,311 for gotg2 on its 41st day. AOU was released a week earlier so it would be unfair to compare its 7th week gross to gotg2's 6th week gross.

That being said guardians has been holding better than AOU and thats a great achievement. 390m Dom is on the table and likely if it follows AOU from here on out. 400 would have happened had it not been for WW.

Indeed, I missed that. I thought they released on the same week-end.

Wonder Woman will pass Amazing Spider Man, Incredibles and Winter Soldier with ease this weekend.

Will be the 7th biggest superhero origin film by the end of this weekend too!

I'm confused. You don't want people to watch the movie to not spread bad reviews or what?

Actually I confused myself with that comment :dunce:

Good hold all around. Mummy's drop doesn't surprise me since the age skewed old and it had one of the best Tuesdays.

That being said, watched it with the wife last night and I'm not sure what all the hate is about. It's a passable flick but seriously there are much worse things to watch over 2 hours.

Well, and ULTRON had lousy legs in general.

Not the point.

The point is, GOTG2's ceiling seems to be way more higher than the 380-385M concensus. With its current pace, 390M is almost a lock with an outside chance of touching the 400M mark.

Whar are we thinking now for aWW.350 now is the most  probable buuut also has an outside shot at 400M as it has at 330M.

It would be highly unlikely to only gross 330m.

Suicide Squad grossed another 87m after the equivalent Wednesday. Wonder Woman has shown stronger word of mouth and it going into a period of better weekday holds, while Suicide Squad was losing summer strength over time.

Even from a rough generalization of holding about 30% better than Suicide Squad will put Wonder Woman at 340m, and it's probably going to go significantly higher.

I wonder if anyone at Paramount has told The Rock that Baywatch definitely isn't a hit yet.

I was sad for Baywatch initially but then after seeing it and it being laugh-free, I don't feel bad.

Its still managed to gross just over $100 million worldwide. Which isn't too bad with the $69 million dollar budget. Probably end up making a tiny profit on it when it's all said and done.

Way off topic (but better than the DP and porn talk)....I started reading The Hunger Games.  The book, so far, is pretty cool.  Katniss seems a lot more angry in the book than she came across in the movie.  Peeta casting is a giant fucking headscratch......in the book he is described as being tall, muscular from eating food consistently and lugging around heavy crates for baking...in the movie he is nothing like that.  Effie is bang on and Haymitch is a good match as well.  I didn't care for the movies all that much but the description of the dire scene in District 12 is already appealing to me much more than the film did.

Sorry, back to our porn talk.

Lots of internal thoughts from Katniss in the book that's hard to convey in a movie besides her just looking really angry or doing lots of voice work over scenes, which would get old very fast.

Indeed.

GOTG2 will come out of this week-end with $373-374M, add in summer weekdays and it can't really gross under $385M

A terrific movie with terrific legs? Makes sense.

Same @ Wonder Woman
