WEEKEND THREAD | Weekend actuals (pg. 87 onward) - Dunkirk: 26.6M; The Emoji Movie: 24.5M; Girls Trip: 19.6M; Atomic Blonde: 18.2M; SM Homecoming: 13.2M; War For The POTA: 10.4M; Despicable Me 3: 7.4M; Valerian: 6.3M; Baby Driver: 3.9M; Wonder Woman: 3.3M

That Friday number for Emoji Movie seems good relative to its preview gross. It is quite a smaller percentage from previews than Pixels did during July two summers ago, and that seems like a relevant comparison (though maybe not, as one is animated and the other is live action and perhaps skewed not quite as young). However, Emoji Movie also compares well to Ice Age which opened last July.

The Emoji Movie — 9.5M (9.5% from previews)
Pixels — 9.1M (16.5% from previews)
Ice Age: Collision Course — 7.9M (10.7% from previews)

Peace,

Mike

Sony doesn't have to do anything to make that happen.

As Matrix pointed out SM looks to do about $8m weekdays next week which means going into next w/e it will already be at $286m and after that w/e probably around $294-5m and be near $300m going into the w/e after that.

I agree.

They can help it reach 325-330 mill with the help of double features and no big theater drops but 300 mill will be done very organic and natural

The fuck with Wonder Woman?! :wintf:It's going to hit 4x multiplier at this point and that's freaking amazing

Also Baby Driver holds have been phenomenal since day 1. Sleeper hit of the Summer?

You got "good" and "great" mixed up.

It's a great hold for Girls Trip considering it's dropping less.

Girls Trip is the story of the weekend (again). What a fantastic drop.

I actually don't think that's very good for Dunkirk, all things considered.

Wonder Woman, 17% . Incredible. Nothing else comes close to this run.

A bit underwhelming for Atomic Blonde, but it's on target with the low end of tracking I suppose.
