Dunkirk at 180m overseas

Total Lifetime Grosses
Domestic:  $133,555,738    42.5%
Foreign:  $180,600,000    57.5%

= Worldwide:  $314,155,738

Assuming the current 42.5% domestic percentage holds, it would be on pace for $435m worldwide with a final domestic gross of $185m. But that 42.5% number should go down some with the later releases in China, Japan, Italy, and Greece. Should be able to reach $450m worldwide if it can reach $185m domestic.

ow => 10-day multiplier

EMOJI 49.452/24.532 = 2.016x

DUNKIRK 101.317/50.513 = 2.006x

I know different genres, but quality of movie if vastly different can transcend genres. DUNKIRK after all will beat most animations when it comes to legs.

Bottom line, 3x is the worst EMOJI will do (75 dom) even if it takes a decent hit from NUT JOB 2.

I thought everyone would love to see our former poster, Squaremaster defending the hell out of Nolan while the rest of the site trashes this movie..

Based on the legs at the box office, those guys seem to be living in an echo chamber.

So many people were rooting for Dunkirk to flop critically or at the box office and neither happened. Not sure what is there to defend with Dunkirk anymore, it's a win by any metric.

If DUNKIRK has same legs as MI:RN, it will do ~192 dom.

MI:RN added 56.7 more to it's cume after a weekend of 17.18, that gives

56.7/17.18*17.6 + 133.56 = 191.65 to DUNKIRK.

But, MI:RN's late run was hastily cut short. After an 8th weekend of 2.2, it added only 3.3 in rest of the run. DUNKIRK could linger longer and could also get an awards push.

Can't rule out 200 yet. Goes without saying it does not have to behave like MI:RN but looks like it's best comp.

OW - 17-Day Multiplier

Dunkirk: 133.55 / 50.51 = 2.644x

Interstellar: 120.93 / 47.51 = 2.545x

MI5: 138.323 / 55.52 = 2.4914x

I use 49.66 opening for Interstellar. You have to account for those Wednesday/Thursday "film only" previews somehow. Either that or take the $2m out of the total gross as well if you are going to use $47.5m weekend total. Either way it's around a 2.4 multiplier after 3 weekends. But that will start to look a lot better next week when the movie gains a ton of ground due to Thanksgiving holidays.

It really is just a matter of time before RT goes by the wayside and is nothing more than a thing of the past.. I'm surprised it's lasted as long as it has...

I don't understand how a 19.5mil opening is good for a 66mil dollar movie but almost everyone was saying how disappointing Atomic Blonde's opening was when it cost 30mil?

Expectations.

And as the saying goes, forget it Jake it's the forums. People say a lot of strange things here and have unrealistic expectations.
