For a musical La la land had mediocre singing and dancing and that's a problem. Emma Stone's acting was good, but everything else average. I don't think it will become a classic.

where are the great dancers of the past?!

The worst I’ve ever seen a movie be mis-sold is Sweeny Todd.

Here’s the trailer:

Without prior knowledge of the property would you have known this movie was a full blown 100% musical like Les Mis? It took me years to rewatch and forgive the movie.

I remember my friends being excited to see a Johnny Depp horror movie and I never bothered to tell them...

I like him in ST but I don't know why he got such praise and awards attention when HBC acted him off the screen every scene.

Well I do: he's Johnny Depp. Still.

the arrogance of youth is the same posters always posting your best of the year list as if people in this thread are keeping themselves up at night wondering if your 23rd favourite movie of the year is different from what it was two weeks ago.

fun fact: Alien Covenant wasn't always my 23rd favorite film of the year.  at one point it was Beauty and the Beast.
