Saw American Made for the second time tonight. Probably my favourite movie since Dunkirk, just slightly edging out It.

Nice! AM is an awesome film. Wish it was doing better, but at least it actually got made.

I thought it was decent when I saw it last month. It's very old school and the sort of role that Cruise should do more often,

Yeah, he plays the crazy extreme guy so well, and it's good to see him in a non running action film.

Cruise does funny well, some of the stuff he does in AM like riding the bike with cocaine on his face (not a spoiler as it was in the trailer) was hilarious. I think Universal made a mistake not releasing in August domestically as it would have done well with minimal competition

They should have released it in a better month. It also seemed like the marketing was a bit relatively quiet. At least it'll do well enough overseas, and make over its budget.

It was originally scheduled for January 2017! I wonder if Universal weren't sure how to market it even with Cruise as the main attraction.

I always thought that the original release date of January suggested that Universal didn't have much faith in the film, and that sorta showed in the advertising too. I think they were banking on Cruise's name a bit too much as well.

I hope Kingsman2's 39% Sunday drop is closer to 25% with actuals. Probably that's too wishful. But a 25% drop on Sunday would give it an 8.5 weekend and a 80.5 cume, and would leave it 19.5 away from 100. Still not locked but every penny counts eh?
