This summer has been pure dogshit for me, and I feel terrible most of the time, but at least I've watched some great movies: Killer of Sheep, Zabriskie Point, Punishment Park and L'atalante, just to name a few.

The First Purge was pretty fun. The action in here is really good! The story is..... fine, and obviously the political commentary isn't subtle at all. There's some stuff like music choices and product placement that made me chuckle too, ESPECIALLY that ad for the TV show in the middle of the credits

I'm in a similar position as you. Sitting around the house all day with the trip to the theater every so often gets fucking boring. Have you thought about getting a summer job? I had an interview at Starbucks over a week ago, but they still haven't given me a decision. Really hoping I can land this job because it'd give me something to do before I transfer in another 6 months.

All I'm hoping for is no Ricky Martin getting nominated for Assassination of Gianni Versace. I'm gonna be really pissed if he gets nominated for that nothing performance while his less famous but much superior co-stars (Cody Fern and Finn Wittrock, in particular) get shut out.

 

Something tells me Westworld will still get nominated for a bunch of stuff anyways cause Emmys are gonna Emmy.
