acsc1312
It's too bad Hathaway will probably run off with this award. Adams definitely gives a performance in The Master.
fishstick
Adams is a braidsmaid, never a bride. All her Oscar noms by now point to that. She`s Julianne Moore of her generation when it comes to noms w/o wins.

Webslinger
I thought Amy Adams was terrific in The Master. She wasn't in much of it, but she totally nailed the Lady Macbeth-like vibe I'm sure Paul Thomas Anderson was going for with that character. The way this actress who is commonly seen as a sweetheart could be so cold, matter-of-fact, and controlling is as sharp an indicator as any of her range. Though it would never make the telecast as her Oscar clip if she was nominated, the scene where she jacks off Dodd while instructing him was what convinced me of her subtle brilliance in the movie. Travod
Her best scene was when they were sitting in the bedroom and she was like, "Why do we have to defend ourselves" or something.
fishstick
Supporting category is something that show stealers win. As far as reviews go, Adams is great but not a show stealer and her role isn`t showy let alone a show stopper. This is a category where villains and histrionics prosper, not subtlety.

fishstick
Is Hunt going supporting or lead?Adams may miss out now that The Master is fading. And it was guy`s show anyway. Just sayin.

forg
Yeah Adams could miss out I think but hopefully not but in any case, she's still young. She will one someday, she's shaping out to be the next Kate Winslet
The Futurist
Adams is not that young, she's nearly 40.

CoolioD1
I'm gonna go on a hunch and say Samantha Barks surprises everyone and becomes the stronger contender. I'll probably end up being wrong but still, it's a much bigger and better part than Hathaway's.
JackO
I decided to say F it. Master's stock is dropping and Adams wasn't all that special in it anyways. Sally FieldAnne HathawayHelen HuntSamantha BarksJennifer Ehle
