And eight to Disney. All of which came out this decade. It'll be nine if IW can reach 169.189M.

In fairness thats less impressive when you consider its heavily fanboy driven and there have been about a million movies. All but one of the top 20 is a franchise movie.

Proof that the DOM movie business is getting more and more IP-driven and more and more frontloaded. OWs are getting bigger and bigger and yet the total yearly attendance stays flat or drops.

That hold for Jumanji puts it at 9th best 9th weekend, or using the 4-day 3rd best!! The RockTM has the best power ever. Equally as amazing as BP this weekend to be honest.

I didnt say it was easy, just that its saturation bombing. However if you look at it as a hit rate its a lower percentage of their movies in the top 20 (33%) than TDK trilogy (66%), Star wars (Disney) (100%), Hunger games (50%) and Twilight (40%).

Was that a terrible start or what ? I wonder where the blade rights belong to these days, a blade film on a proper “tomb of Dracula” universe could be amazing.

Which four records are you referring to? It still has the highest R-rated OW and WW total.

1. February Opening

2. presidents day 4 day opening

3. presidents day 4 day in general

4. Winter opening weekend

All gone!

When there's a record for everything they start becoming pretty meaningless, there's one record which means something much more than the rest. :shades:

Could drop like GOTG vol 2 on saturday with that $76m friday for around $70m Saturday

Unlikely that would be the highest Saturday ever.

Higher than Jurassic World, Avengers and The Force Awakens (okay to be honest all adjust to more than $70M). I still think it is unlikely.

1..) Black Panther (DIS), 4,020 theaters  / $76.6M Fri (includes $25.2M in previews) /3-day: $187.6M /4-day: $216M/Wk 1

So they expect something like this:

    %
Previews: $25.2M
Friday: $51.4M
Saturday: $61M 18,68
Sunday: $50M -18,03
Monday: $28.4M -43,2

That would be the 8th biggest Saturday (behind Jurassic World, Avengers, The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, Beauty and the Beast, Iron Man 3 and Captain America: Civil War.

With $62,706,809 it would be the 5th behind The Last Jedi, with $63,993,206 it would be fourth.

And $50M would be the 6th biggest Sunday behind The Force Awakens, Jurassic World, Avengers, The Last Jedi and Age of Ultron.

$51,331,889 would be 4th (higher than The Last Jedi)

That is amazing.

That Monday would btw. be the biggest Monday out side of Christmas-Holiday and the biggest Monday for a film not named Star Wars.

Rank Title Studio Gross Date
1 Star Wars: The Force Awakens BV 40,109,742 12/21/15
2 Rogue One: A Star Wars Story BV 32,085,637 12/26/16
