Went from 6.9 to 7.8!

 

I checked in every year and it's been steadily increasing since then, never going down.

 

Quite impressive if you ask me.

 

I think the rerelease/exposure to a new audience has helped quite a lot to make the film more fondly remembered and give it a proper re-evaluation. There are still people that like to hate on it but that crowd has (thankfully) died down quite a lot.

I respect RfaD but the film fucked me up, something not even a horror movie has ever accomplished. I left the theater a complete wreck so much so that I had to skip going to movies for a couple of weeks to recover and to process the film. To say the film is a downer is massive understatement. If I am ever kidnapped by terrorists and they want to torture me, all they need to do is play this film on a loop.

 

I don't hate the film and I can appreciate what Aronofsky created. I simply can never watch the film again. I didn't include the film in my list but I would place it in an Honorable Mention category.

Requiem for a Dream is fucking horrifying.  Had to take a long shower after watching it.  Had trouble sleeping for weeks.

Twister is fucking awesome.  Jan DeBont directs the hell out of it and when you have a cast  that includes two Oscar winners, plus Chet, Cameron Frye from Ferris Bueller and then the most cookie cutter bad guys, add it all up and you have one of the best disaster films ever made imo.  I love the hell out of Twister.

I had to take a breather for an hour after watching that film. Since the day I saw it, it has just stuck with me unlike any other film has before. The climax just destroyed me emotionally.
