This horrific hazing incident (a lot more graphic details than are in the following interview) he was a ringleader in at a fraternity was discussed when he was doing publicity rounds.  It came out a few years before but I missed it.   It was brought up to him during an interview and instead of even attempting an apology and admitting having done terrible things in the past but having grow over the years he Nate Parker'ed it.  (he also wasn't acquitted as he claims - he got a probationary plea deal)

He was also a set designer for a soft-core porn movie. Dude's wikipedia page is kinda wild.

I know I am late to the EC suspension discussion but as some of the other moderators have already said you guys have no idea what goes on behind the scenes and how much we discuss this stuff before somebody actually gets banned. And in his case in my opinion he probably warranted a suspension a long time ago and I know I am late to the Empire suspension discussion but as some of the other moderator have already said you guys have no idea what goes on behind the scenes and right or wrong he was probably given a little bit of preferential treatment because he is who he is. But this last episode was completely egregious and there was no way that we couldn't suspend him at least for a little bit. So that's all I gotta day about that.

Raise your hand if you actually saw The Incredibles during its theatrical run in 2004-2005. *raises hand*

Not only did I see it, I still have the ticket stub.

A few years ago, my mom came across the ticket stub from when we saw Jerry Maguire over the Christmas '96 break while cleaning up her house. How it survived almost 20 years still looking like new I have no idea.

I'm 24 and when I started following box office I didn't even have a home computer so I had to go to my mother's workplace across town to get a look at the actuals and physically print out as many BOM charts as I could get away with at a time in order to go through them at home. That shit hardens you.

I wasn't able to watch movie in theater until I was 17 :(. I'm 24 too

I have a box (which is what it's sitting on) that I put all my ticket stubs in from like 2000 to 2006.  I found it tucked in a draw when I was moving.  It's wild.  I still have tickets from Titanic.  I apparently went twice.

Looking back, I also missed out on seeing SpongeBob in theaters that same month :whosad:

I was so pissed when my parents wouldn't take me opening night. I was a legit brat that night. We went out to eat with family at Ocharleys and I could SEE THE SPONGEBOB POSTER out the window the entire dinner since the theater was across the street. Biggest tease until Kristen in 10th grade.

I went the next afternoon though so it was all good.

Man what a month that was. Incredibles, Polar Express, Spongebob. I was childhooding hard.
