Crazy how a new blockbuster/franchise hasn't broke out in such a longtime.

If you are a not a known brand, you re literally fucked.

Its getting worse and worse.

I truly don't understand audiences' aversion to new shit (outside of horror of course)...movies aren't THAT expensive that people should be so risk-averse and only watch familiar brands and franchises, particularly now with sub services like AMC Stubs.

Regardless, we still get around 6-8 original or "original" blockbusters a year. I'll take it.

Alita was fantastic, my friend lready wants to go see it again.

we saw it in Dolby Cinema 3D, and it looked gorgeous.

Is this the first time AMC Dolby Cinema has had a movie in 3D?

the glasses were different and everything.

They have lazor projections, probably the expensive glasses you have to hand back right? They're worth like $40 eahc.

We only have 1 in the UK and I'm going to see Alita on it before it's out of cinema. Can't wait!

I'd say it's as much a sign of the times as anything else. When studios have largely abandoned mid-budget films in favor of going all-in on established brands and potential franchises, it's hard for something outside a certain mold to break out.

Movies is actually 7 and the average is still the highest : )

The real question is will Jim overrate Speilberg domestically when just 11 films total? Worldwide he obiviously will.

Avatar 2 can get Cameron to number 2, whether he can eventually surpass Spielberg is the bigger question.

Worldwide box office, Cameron could definitely surpass Spielberg for sure.

The reason why his average is the highest is because he's made less movies is all it is.

If you say so Jimbo.

So which of the Avatar sequels is going to make less than $210m DOM?

If I say so?

You'll be hard pressed to find anyone who will disagree on here.

Why are you being stubborn :s
