Looks like Disney is gonna have to Superman Returns Ralph Breaks the Internet past $200M.

You mean, Disney is going to have to Disney Ralph2. Poor theaters, forced to carry Disney flops for weeks and months just so they can get the next MCU movie.

But is Disney still going to try so hard once they "sell" their movies to... Disney+?

Or Tangled, which was even further behind at the same point in time.

I have a feeling the Saturday numbers for Alita will be better than expected.

The showings near me aren’t even 5% full for today when I checked reserved seating. Not even IMAX. And I’m in what I would consider an area receptive to this kind of film and more likely to use an app for tickets.

Alita is a family/walkup movie.

Alita is bombing? good. How about we see some more real anime on the big screen like Broly and not any more of these fake Live-action abominations. Ghost of the Shell, DB Evolution, the likes don't work.

You really think that Alita bombing will help anime getting wider exposure?

Is everything just a family movie nowadays?

Well, they did tone it down quite a bit to get there.... far less brain eating than in the original :P

local cinema appears to have a bug on the website where if you try to buy an IMAX ticket you can buy it for £5... normal price £16.

Looks like an Alita-Alita double bill is in order for this evening.

no exposure is better than bad exposure.

And i would not even say that Alita is bad exposure for its source.... pretty sure the manga (and its still ongoing sequel series) will sell significantly more copies because of it.

Indeed, I believe that Alita is sharing good exposure for the source. I was just respecting the opinion of the person I replied to, who implied the exposure would be bad.
