The OS OW was shocking, but 400+ DOM has honestly been expected for like 3 months. The surprising result would be <400

I also predicted $400M DOM but still impressive nevertheless though I get $400M is the new $300M now with inflation and all that

Regarding "legs", when a movie opens on a Wednesday people have to take that into consideration when talking about how good a multiplier a movie had. Not saying Alita had bad legs, it held up much better than comparable movies, suggesting pretty decent word of mouth.

 

I just remember someone (can't remember who though) was telling me that 47 Ronin had great legs because it had over a 4x multi. Um... it made 1.8x its 5-day opening. VERY different when your opening Wednesday is Xmas day.

It was assisted by the 8.7m thursday and it made 50% of it gross on it's 4-5 days and that's through an extended weekend holiday. Everything after will look rosy.
