Make no mistake, audiences created the franchise system, not the studios.

I agree with you that audiences only want to see what they've already seen the year before and the year before that but that's no excuse for some of the shit the studios have put out in recent years. I've no use for much of Disney's slate but they have at least put some effort in their franchise movies.

To be honest Renner and Scarjo probably have the best careers as far as quality roles outside of Marvel. Although it seems RDJ and Evans don't do much by choice.

Ruffalo has had a great career outside of Marvel. He has been in handful of Best Picture films and he has been nominated for an Oscar three times.

Hes had a great career, but money wise ScarJo wins.

But that guy included Renner so...I dunno what he's talking about.  I guess Renner got the lead push that Ruffalo never did.  There's that.

Im sure Ruffalo is seeing more Marvel moola than Renner though.

Avengers 4

You're right, he'll be ok.

But outside Marvel he's been given some serious opportunities.  Those may dry up.  At least as lead in big budget films.

I was more like :

let s hope Hems does not bring his bad karma on these 3 Marvel films.

Because yeah, outside of Marvel, his track record is pretty abysmal.

Too bad, Rush was great.

Big brother Hemsworth is legit IMO.  Marvel won't fall to his not Marvel curse.

"Ya’ start the fight without me? My presence is vital"
"Maybe they forgot you?"
"But my name’s in the title!"

Why am I concerned that this might be better than the movie, itself?

I did like Rush, but I think this movie was a bad idea from the beginning.

Thoughts on

a solid chunk of the big finale being a group of people climbing a block of ice?

Amazing.

It was so bad I couldn't believe it was happening.

I just finished watching a showing of The Huntsman Winter's War in an AMC theater a little while ago. I enjoyed every part of it and It's a big improvement over the first movie.  It's not a slow paced movie that makes your mind wonder with scenes that would be worth being deleted. Which the first movie had that problem whereas this movie doesn't have that problem. The cast were perfect fits for the roles they played in the movie, especially the newest editions to the cast such as Emily Blunt and Jessica Chastain. I was impressed with the CGI more then I thought I would be considering that, the CGI looked somewhat unfinished in the earliest trailers released for this movie and better in the most recent trailers.

5/5
