In fairness, a full opening day only doubling the preview number is fairly unprecedented so I think there's grounds for the complete change in tone. Horror movies - especially a horror FRANCHISE movie - are expected to be frontloaded but this is something else altogether. Wouldn't be surprised if 25M 5-day and sub-60M domestic happens. Just awful, especially since freaking La Llorona did better on OW this year, and almost made 60M domestic. I don't think most people knew it was coming out early and Friday is much more of a traditional date to release a movie. I'm sure Annabelle will be just fine. And this panic about a Wednesday drop for toy Story after it just did 20 million on Tuesday, come on people.
