I don't know if I'm going to be able to pick only 25 movies LOL 1999 was just an amazing year for film.

No kidding. 1999 was an amazing year for movies. Here are some of the movies that didn’t make the cut for my Top 25 but all of them are great movies: Trekkies, The Matrix, Run Lola Run, The Mummy, Magnolia, Deep Blue Sea, Three Kings, The Iron Giant, Fight Club, Boy’s Don’t Cry and so many others. My Top 50 list would not do justice for the year given how good it was.

is Bowfinger still relevant?

i'm assuming getting into 'the business' works fine for his kids without the casting couch, but they probably follow in Steve Martin's Hollywood traditional footsteps?  actors are idiots, how are they all famous?

i'm assuming the casting couch, JLAW, other professional liars, and Hollywood are more powerful then @ anonymous? and 80s Hollywood porn is safe and protected by the mob?

if teens want to get in to Hollywood, they should watch Bowfinger to prepare themselves like the millenial generation.....  Bowfinger gives tolerance, its a behavior lesson to stop violence by keeping other people from getting jealous about the future actors and their requirements.  there are generations above us that can talk us through the casting couch too!  they are stronger then us, because the federal budget and the actors/liars depend of it.

it gives the casting people good power.  i need to work on my abs more!

I think I speak for everyone here when I say:

What?

Just realized two of my top ten came from 1999 (Office Space and the Matrix). South Park is probably in my top 20/30 as well.

Shout out as well to the original Digimon Adventure movie coming out in 1999 as well. As far as I know it's Mamoru Hosada's directorial debut.

Alright, I'll do this. Gotta find a good list of 99 movies though.

Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels - 1998 UK film but not released in the U.S until 1999.  Eligible?  @grim22

One I haven't seen yet on any list- Egoyan's psychological thriller with one of Bob Hoskin's best performances  - Felicia's Journey -  so good, soo creepy

Already received 9 lists. Seems to be a popular year.

And no one sent me any for the black and white list yet.:whosad:

(Technically a few people said they would send a list, but still).

Patience.

The B&W list requires homework.

Most posters on this board probably couldn't fill a top 10 list even with B&W movies they didn't like.

I wonder if you lowered the  list of 100 from each person down to a top 50 or 25, if this would make it less daunting of a task to work out a list and maybe more people would join in?  I know you can submit a smaller list but at the way you have the rules set, it comes a high cost of placement for a person's favorites, and you could still display the final list at 100 titles.

Maybe but there are far more worthy films from the B&W catalogue than a single year.    It's the same when we do Top 100 Animation , Film Scores, Songs etc.  One can always send in a smaller list but restricting it to 25  or 50 I think makes the list less interesting and also penalizes those who've seen more films.

Wonder how the lists would have looked like if redlettermediaidiot wasnt around

I had to google who that is, and he seems to be a Youtube reviewer. I'm not sure why he would make a particular difference to this list, especially compared to the many reviewers on Youtube, some of whom are bigger than redlettermedia, like Jahns or Stuckmann.
