Princess Mononoke was allowed on the 1997 list though.  I think it was 8th.  Otherwise I'd have voted for it.

just allow princess mononoke on the list, so what if it turns up on two lists, just goes to show how great people think it is!

 

I didn't notice this one before so you can expect something from me before 31st, won't be 25 though.

 

 

Wish i had seen Magnolia but I'm waiting for a screening in September to watch it for the first time.

Its funny, I had to really 'work' to even find 13 titles I'd add to a 1999 list.

Had to add not only best, but also liked / enjoyable... titles to find as much. That leasd to #1 movie being a 'most loved' title instead to be a 'best' title.

I've seen a lot of the movies on other lists here, but do not share the ... reaction to them?
3 movies I still have not seen beside them being on my to watch list, this thread was a good reminder to get in with that.

 

But: I did sent my first ranked list ever, it was way simpler than to decide with a top 100 or so list 😉

is Magnolia supposed to be good?  this movie has so many loud sounds and screeches i wondered if they made it to drive away people on the spectrum?  is this the directors style?  Tom Cruise probably would have a good opinion on this, if they sound tested it to be audibly harmful spectrum-wise... it's a scientific experiment.

are kids not supposed to attack the tv when annoying characters talk to each other?

 

**I see, they went all out with short outbursts.  very reactionary though.  sort of like mother!  this is supposed to be a classic though...  only 30 min in.  3 hours, wow!!  g well, i'll bbl

I think my top 8 all could have won some other years in cinema for me. 

 

I know I fly the Cruel Intentions and 10 Things I Hate About You flags higher than than most would ever thing of, but still, in a lot of these lists I am scratching around the world cinema release dates to find something I don't feel dirty placing 23rd. 

 

This time, films I genuinely like were in the 30s.
