What kind of press tour are they going to do? No images, no trailer, no....anything. There's really nothing to do a press tour with/for without anything to press.

And maybe a bigger question is WHY are they doing a press tour in the week that Strange tickets go on sale?

This whole thing is FUBAR.

This is long lead press

Some press takes a very long time to edit, prepare and be approved - especially for huge publications.  So they do this press waaaaay early.

Simple. They'll just...put out press tour stuff after the fact. They'll publish interviews after the trailer comes out. It's likely these interviews already have material not intended for public consumption yet. Do you really think interviews come out the day after they are done? It's usually done in advance and deliberately chosen to come out in certain parts of the marketing campaign.

And even if it was, I'm still confused by the whole "You can't put a Thor trailer/press junket interview the same time Strange tickets go on sale". Marvel's been able to do mulitple marketing campaigns before without overshadowing the other. Do you all really think people will just be like "golly gee whiz, Thor 4 looks cool. Oh Strange tickets are out. Thor 4 is no longer in my memory"? People can in fact look at two separate things, especially when Doctor Strange tickets only take like one minute of a person's time.

I really think you need to relax a little bit. Trust me when I say, Thor 4's not in any danger whatsoever.

People really think they can’t promote Thor and Strange at the same time when we already had Captain Marvel and Endgame and Spider-Man in a 4 month time span or Black Panther and Infinity War within 2 months of each other or hell

Both on the same night. And all performed quite well. Some more than others.

The amount of words spilled in this thread about "OMG marketing so late, will it be delayed if we don't get a hit by XYZ???" is pretty amazing considering this has been a pretty unremarkable rollout that never at any point suggested a delay :hahaha:

If it doesn't show up tomorrow, it will officially be the closest to release a first trailer has ever been for any MCU movie in history.

Definitely won't come right before DS2 tickets drop. I'd say the next possible date is the 11th.

Again, don't see how these are related. People can watch a trailer on Tuesday and buy tickets on Wednesday

Because it draws attention away from an immediate, same company event. Just like they wouldn’t drop a trailer the day before the Moon Knight premiere even though they’re not related either. Common sense, really.

There´s also rumors there will be a final trailer or longer teaser for DS2 along tickets. Some interviews will drop as well, some journalists are teasing.

I mean, everyone knows people can do many things at the same time, but it´s very obvious why drop Moon Knight Episode + DS2 final trailer + DS2 tickets + DS2 interviews / articles + Thor 4 trailer premiere in a span of 2 days would be terrible. I´m sure millions will do and see everything, but the discussion will be softer because it´s too much at the same time to focus.

If they were worried about dropping a teaser right in the middle of Moon Knight's release and DS2's ticket sales, then why wouldn't they have at least dropped a short teaser back in late February or early or middle March (which would have been normal)? That way they could wait until after DS2's release to drop a full trailer.

Long-lead press, as it has been stated, can take a few months to produce. Photos and interviews from these may not even make the media until later this summer. They may still be preparing a full-court "press" during the summer for a fall release. It was actually pretty stupid for them to post that on Twitter.

Oh god. Just stop already. It's not getting delayed.

Stop writing those big amounts of bs.

We are in April. Movie comes in July. Chris didn't post it just because. It's all moving ahead and the trailer is imminent.

They're literally premiering a new episode of Moon Knight the same day as tickets go on sale lmao what are you talking about

Isn't Furiosa supposed to be shooting this summer? Makes sense that they're getting the majority of the promo out of the way now (even before marketing materials are released) since Hemsworth's availability to promote the movie is about to be on the limited side.

That’s not the premier of the show, that’s just another episode. No matter how you wanna break it down, a trailer isn’t coming today. It’s not coming tomorrow either. Book that.
