Tower
49 Harakiri Points: 64 Number of lists: 3 Year: 1962 Director: Masaki Kobayashi First place votes: 0 Top 5 (2-5): 1 Top 10 (6-10): 0 Average position: 20.7 Not the most well known film on the list, but those that saw it loved it. Just 3 people voting for this managed to get it into the top half of the list, something that won't happen again.

Jake Gittes
Harakiri is the kind of movie you wish you could just sit the whole world down in front of and press play. It's staggeringly good.

I feel like This film falls apart at the end, but until then it's really good, with an interesting villain. baumer
Wow! Reading the list of films that have been listed so far, I'm coming to realize I really need to see more films made before 1960.

I haven't seen this one but I did see a different Marx film, and their style really isn't my taste. Clearly though plenty of people still like this kind of thing. Jake Gittes
Only Angels Have Wings has just about everything I could want from a movie. I'd happily watch it once a week. Maybe the greatest screenplay ever written. If an exotic locale-set romantic hangout adventure about a community of stoic but likable professionals sounds any good to you you owe it to yourself to check this out. Fancyarcher
What I love most about the Marx Brothers is their anarchic, and total chaotic nature, they fit into any scenario, and you can see the "joyfulness" on screen, anytime they show-up to cause havoc. Duck Soup is the better film, but I think that sort of "chaos", was never better show on screen, then at A Night at The Opera, especially in the stateroom sequence. Groucho's remark "Is it my imagination, or is it getting crowded here in here", never fails to put a smile on me. It was doing quite a bit better early on in the list, but as more votes came in it cooled off.
